William Henry Walker

William Henry Walker was an American Painter, Illustrator and Cartoonist who was active in New York, N.Y.

His professional career was as a hospital administrator. During his life he contributed to political and satirical cartoons for LIFE magazine, HARPER’S, NEW YORK EVENING POST, and NEW YORK HERALD. He was the first to use the lithographer’s crayon for cartoons. Sotherby’s have many records of  his work appearing in their auctions and his work and illustrations appear in Museums and collections across the world.

This is an unusual peace for us to sell but it came to us from a client and we like its quirkiness.
